My mission is to help people managers who are striving to be better, to transform into inspirational leaders.

Amazing managers engage and motivate their people and create meaningful and fulfilling workplaces.

I believe we need to modernize the way we manage our people in order to make the world of work a better place for everyone.

I founded Lead Credibly as a resource for all leaders in 2018 to help me achieve this aim.

Employee happiness is generally low

According to Gallup’s recent State of the Global Workplace survey:

  • 85% of employees are not engaged, or even worse, are actively disengaged at work
  • 70% of a team’s engagement depends on the manager
  • Employees who work for highly engaged managers are 59% more likely to be engaged

Managers find communication with their team difficult

  • 70% of managers find communicating with their team uncomfortable with “communicating in general” being the hardest aspect for them
  • 70% of employees do not feel they are adequately recognized for their contributions
  • Only 40% employees strongly agree that their supervisor or someone at work cares about their wellbeing

If there is hope it lies with… the people managers

Technologically we have advanced further in the last five years than we did in the previous hundred, yet we have hardly changed the way we manage. No wonder people are disengaged!

If 70% of a team’s engagement depends on the manager then it’s the people managers who can make a difference.

Poor employee engagement affects business profitability

When employees are disengaged businesses suffer as profitability is impacted, this in turn affects economic growth. Gallup state this amounts to $7 trillion in lost productivity.

The Wall Street Journal recently reported on a study carried out by The Korn Ferry Institute. They surveyed 800 global CEOs and senior leaders who said that their most important asset going forward is technology – no longer people… Shocking right?

No… Businesses are battling with high levels of employee disengagement which is impacting their sales levels, their efficiency, and their customer relationships. This issue is front and centre for business leaders. They have begun to see people as a cost, not an asset.

About Me:

I have been a people manager in global corporate businesses for over 22 years. I’ve worked in Utilities, Real Estate, and Financial Services, in global businesses based in both the UK and Canada. I’ve worked in regional offices, in corporate HQ, and from home.

I was promoted into management based on my technical achievements but at the time – as is common – I was given no training. I aspired to be an inspirational leader able to build a magical kind of team spirit.

Over the years I concentrated on developing myself, getting feedback from my team members, and learning many lessons along the way.

Why set up Lead Credibly?

If you’re a new people manager I know what you’re going through. If you are striving to improve and be a strong and inspirational leader I have been there.

I’m proud of my people management track record, but I want to learn more, and I want to help shape the future of people management.

Join me in my quest!
